Assignment: The Commercial

The Jensation is the simple idea of the complete package of stylish shoes and a server who will stop at absolutely nothing to please the buyer. The Jensation is a sensation to the world of cleaning, cooking and all household services as he is the all in one package. And at such a low price, any and all could argue that this is THE most priceworthy servant the market has to offer! The only thing the Jensation wants in return is a mere 20 dollars, when he is in fact priceless! I repeat that you also get a fine set of sporty shoes, free of charge!

Some additional information, motivation etc.

This commercial obviously has a comical side to it, but that's mainly because I felt I did not feel like trying to sell generic toothpaste. So I decided to be a little unorthodox and try to sell Jens. Bear in mind, however, that I did not break any rules seeing as part of the product is shoes.
And let's face it, it is a fantastic offer!

Assignment 7: The movie

Personally, I really liked the movie as its based on true events which makes it alot more believable. The acting wasw suerb, but I have one problem with the movie - the ending.

The problem is mainly on a personal level, because I personally think Northern Ireland should be granted independence from England as it was annexed and we don't live in the 18th century anymore, so obviusoly England, no matter how much it hurts their stuck up pride should let go of old colonies.

And ofcourse this isn't very relevant to the ending, but my track of thought derives from that opinion. I do not think that the mother should have taken him off the hunger strike. He made that choice, and I think that martyrdom, considering the situation was the only rational decision they could make, and it would have ended the conflict if all the 10 inmates actually died. So from a rational point of view, it was wrong to let him off the strike without his consent.

Also, if we are to get ideological here, the fact that she derives him of his own choice just doesn't sit very well with me. If there's anything I ahte its peple who think they know whats best for me, better than me.

Anyway thats my 2 cents, although I really enjoyed the movie this is the only problem I had with it.

Assignment #6: Funny Joke

A german sat at a bar. Bellman* came in and said
- I'll bet you 1 dollar I can drink your beer without touching the glass!
- Okay, said the german.
Bellman took the glass and chugged it down.
- You owe me a dollar! said the german.
- Here you go, said Bellman and handed him the dollar. And thanks for the cheap beer you idiot!

*Bellman is a really Swedish thing, he was a troubadour in the late 1800th century and has been made into a legend, mostly through his songs but also through incredibly dumb jokes. Anyway, most of them are really bad but I actually found this one pretty good.

Assignment 5: Success!

Success! What a fantastic topic. And who would know more than your great, obviuosly successful, leader Georgie!

I will here share my secrets to my great wealth and fame. I have made a list but the numbers dont indicate priorities.

1: Always buy, when you have access to them, Hobbknobb cookies.
2: Never, EVER have any selfcriticism and/or sense of irony.
3: Always do the opposite of what anyone tells you to do.
4: If someone offers you drugs, never decline their offer.
5: Trick other people into doing things for you.
6: Never have any respect for anyone, excluding yourself.

Following this recipe you will soon have a great, successful life. But of course, you will never be as great as Great George.

Assignment 4

I am hereby going to share the best moment I have had in recent times.

This is an easy one, and although this is not very present, as it happened about a little less than a year ago, I can't think of anything else so... too bad.

The last derby against Djurgården, I think it was sometime in late october. It was quite cold but ones the flares got going and the beer started flowing this was not a problem. As I mentioned I was pretty drunk so I dont remember much but the things I do remember are flares, screaming and winning over the monkeys from Skansen with 3-0. Even better was that the pathetic banana eaters, when the 3-0 goal was scored, by none other than Sulan*, nearly half of the Djurgården fans went home.

Pathetic, you support a team in both victory and hard times. And naturally it felt good seeing them admit to being terrible supporters.

Without exaggerating, one of the best days in my life.

* Sulan is a player who has played in my club for 10 years, and for 9 years he never ever scored. The first time was earlier in the year against another rival club, AIK, and his second one against the monkeys.

All glory to George!

Assignment 3

The article is about people losing more IQ to "infomania" wich is addiction to text messaging, emailing etc, than smoking marijuana. Alot of the everyday common officeworkers suffer from this as they generally sit at a computer most of their workday. Apperantly they are very distracted by constant messages and other forms of electrical communication. Quite interesting.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/4471607.stm

This guy, javajones, takes up the article in his own blog, but remaining neutral.
http://javajones.wordpress.com/2007/03/07/infomania-worse-than-marijuana/

He says he in no way "condones" the use of marijuana but stillsays that if infomania is twice as bad as marijuana that gives you a good perspeccitve on justhow harmless the "drug" actually is.

I agree, and if most workers experience infomania a very good way to reduce that COULD be smoking pot. Marijuana generally has a very soothing, almost harmonical effect. If you're up in the clouds, the last thing you'd think about was some text. The effect differs from person to person but still, if its half as harmless, it should be considered as a possible solution for this as those little stressballs the companies buy for their staff don't seem to be working do they?

Wich brings me on to the bigger question wich if of course, should it be legalized? Obviuosly. Marijuana is just as, or even less, harmful than nicotine, and alcohol is alot more dangerous but still these products are endorsed by the law.

It is NOT possible to overdose marijuana and there has not been a single death-case in the history of its use. The only dangers are smoking related ones, just as ones with nicotine. However you can clearly overdose alcohol and it has a much bigger effect on your body.

I think however, that there is hope as articles like this are quite common nowadays and petitions to legalize pop up more frequently worldwide.

Lets hope logic overcomes irrationailty.
